So, what to know about me? My first musical endeavors were as a violinist where I received a classical education throughout my childhood that taught me well enough. But I was never really passionate about playing the violin. I have a more mechanically inclined mind and ambidextrous coordination that made the connection of piano keys to fingers something unquestionably natural. The classical education as a child gave me a huge advance in learning piano so I picked it up quite quickly. I continue to learn new pieces with the intention of performing at events in later decades ...yes, I know, it's a looooong-term plan—I am working towards Mastery!

A Bigger Picture

Yep, that's my engine...
I suppose I am not your usual music person. Remember how I said I have a mechanically inclined mind? The engine is one example of this. A few years ago I figured out how to perfectly install a 345 HP engine to replace my 235 HP one—much better driving now. I have a knack for taking things apart and understanding them. New challenges like this provided a worthwhile investment of free time during college years and now, there's hardly a thing I can't fix on a vehicle.

Why this example? Well, without writing a whole book it lets you infer the characteristics that make me who I am. Mechanical work is just one facet of learning centered around developing capability. Dedication to those developments, such as skill with piano, opens doors in life which is what I want for my students.Â

What I'm doing in life now
I'm working towards medical school. I have completed a Bachelor of Science degree at university but have a handful of courses remaining to be eligible for applications. I recently looked into med-school acceptance rates and WOW they are low. Therefore, I have this running joke with a friend: "I bet it's easier to learn and memorize an entire piano concerto than get into medical school." And I just might maybe possibly do it to prove the point.Â
In any case, such an endeavor will be staying front-center of my aspirations indefinitely! As the situation evolves I'm sure I'll make updates here.
